Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 80.05 points to 17567.0 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Aarti Inds, Akshar Spintex, BKM Industries, C&C Construct and Alok Industries, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 24 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 26 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, RIL, HDFC, Bajaj Auto, Axis Bank and HDFC Bank were among top gainers, while SBI, Sun Pharma, Infosys, Coal India Ltd and HCL Tech traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 303.43 points up at 59264.03 at 11:06AM(IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Telecommunications, Diversified, Cables, Logistics and Holding Company sectors, while selling was visible in Learning & Education, NBFC, Glass, Miscellaneous and IT Enabled Services sectors.
