Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Wednesday's session.

Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(up 5.00%), Madras Fertlizers(up 4.94%), National Fertilizer(up 4.47%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 3.29%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 2.51%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (up 2.33%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 1.07%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(up 1.06%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(up 0.62%) and G S F C(up 0.57%) stood among the top gainers.

Rama Phosphates(down 2.10%), Bohra Industries(down 2.04%), ZUARIAGRO(down 1.96%), Sikko Industries(down 1.88%), Aries Agro(down 1.78%), Agro Phos(down 1.24%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 1.08%), Coromandel International(down 0.57%) and KRISHANA(down 0.55%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 189.6 points down at 18042.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 636.75 points at 60657.45.

Divis Laboratories(up 1.25%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.5%), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.48%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.36%), UltraTech Cement(up 0.17%), Tata Consultancy(up 0.1%) and Eicher Motors(up 0.06%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, JSW Steel(down 4.12%), Hindalco Industries(down 3.83%), Coal India(down 3.1%), Tata Steel(down 2.28%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.21%), Tata Motors(down 2.11%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 2.11%), Wipro(down 1.85%), Infosys(down 1.82%) and HDFC Bank(down 1.79%) closed in the red.
