Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.04% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:29AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Escorts Kubota(up 2.18 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 1.47 per cent), Bosch(up 1.19 per cent), Eicher Motors(up 1.07 per cent) and TIINDIA(up 0.51 per cent) were among the top gainers.

MRF(down 3.11 per cent), Tata Motors(down 0.51 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 0.48 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.34 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki(down 0.33 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.04 per cent at 12922.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 4.35 points at 17520.75, while the BSE Sensex was down 8.38 points at 58844.69.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of JP Power, YES Bank, Zomato Ltd., Suzlon Energy and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Fine Organic Ind., Blue Chip India, AIA Engineering, Cool Caps Industries Ltd. and Network People Services Technologies Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Future Retail, Birla Tyres, Medico Remedies, Vipul Ltd and KCK Industries Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
