Stock market update: Private Bank shares down; Kotak Mahindra Bank slips 1%

NEW DELHI: Private Bank shares were trading on a negative note at 12:12PM (IST) on Wednesday.

Shares of Bandhan Bank (down 1.3 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 1.22 per cent), HDFC Bank (down 1.0 per cent), Federal Bank (down 0.55 per cent) and RBL Bank (down 0.49 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While IDFC Bank (up 1.49 per cent) was the sole gainer.

The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 0.66 per cent down at 12089.8 around 12:12PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 33.80 points at 11288.7, while the BSE Sensex was down 108.53 points at 38298.48.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SBI, Bank of Baroda, PNB and IDFC First Bank Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Indiabulls Ventures (PP), Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., Essel Propack, ITI Ltd and M&M hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mittal Life Style Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
