Stock market update: MidCap stocks gain; Varroc Engg surges 10%

NEW DELHI: MidCap stocks were trading on a positive note at 01:12PM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of Varroc Engineering (up 9.99 per cent), Tata Consumer Products (up 6.07 per cent), United Breweries (up 4.51 per cent), Hindustan Aeronautics (up 4.4 per cent) and Max Financial Serv (up 4.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Future Retail (down 10.0 per cent), Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail (down 2.79 per cent), Oberoi Realty (down 2.06 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank (down 1.83 per cent) and RBL Bank (down 1.45 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.67 per cent up at 15119.48 around 01:12PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 24.55 points at 11559.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 26.81 points at 39112.84.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, Alok Industries and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Poly Medicure, Tata Consumer Products, Adani Green Energy Ltd., Tube Investments of India Ltd. and SBI Cards hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Darjeeling Ropeway Company Ltd., Panth Infinity Ltd., Innovative Ideals and Services (India) Ltd., Darshan Orna Ltd., Emmsons International Ltd., Vas Infrastructure Ltd., Saffron Industries Ltd., Benara Bearings & Pistons Ltd., B P Capital Ltd. and Leading Leasing Finance and Investment Company Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
