    Anant Rangaswami, the founding editor of Campaign India, passes away at 61

    In the early morning hours of Tuesday morning, marketing and advertising veteran Anant Rangaswami, aged 61, passed away. Rangaswami worked at CNBC-TV18 and FirstPost as a senior editor.

    A senior journalist and a dedicated professional in the advertising industry, Anant Rangaswami passed away on Tuesday morning. Everyone in the Media Industry was in shock by the news as condolences started pouring in remembering Anant as an inquisitive and one of the most experienced personalities in the advertising and media sphere.
    With Anant Rangaswami's over 2 decades long career, he served his capabilities at the best advertising and media houses, the latest one was with Melt (an advertising and marketing magazine). Rangaswami was also the author of two books and an epic debater as people remember him for his straightforward personality.

    In addition to his work at CNBC TV18's Storyboard, he was a senior editor at Firstpost.com. Rangaswami served as vice president at TBWA India and was founder editor at Campaign India. Rangaswami was also the editor of Melt, a magazine and portal which is dedicated to advertising and marketing.

    The two books that are authored by him are Watching from the Sidelines and The Elephants in the Room: The Future of Advertising in India.

    In the wake of Rangaswami's passing, industry executives shared their grief on social media.

    Lloyd Mathias, angel investor and business strategist, stated, “Heartbreaking to hear of the passing of Anant Rangaswami. A wonderful person, adman (TBWA) journalist (former editor of Campaign India and CNBC TV18’s Storyboard) and a man who always stood up for the causes he believed in. May he rest in eternal peace,”

    Raj Nayak, founder of happyness.me, said on social media platform Twitter, “An advertising professional, salesman, journalist, editor, event manager, he was a maverick and always on top of his game. A colleague and friend that I’ve known for over three decades, he was candid, outspoken, and a fine big-hearted human being. Will miss you dearly. #AnantRangaswamy”.

    Shereen Bhan tweeted, “Terrible news this morning. We have lost a fabulous former colleague, the former consulting editor of @BrandStoryboard @ AnantRangaswamy. Full of ideas, razor sharp wit and a good friend. You will be terribly missed. My condolences to the family @CNBCTV18News.”
