Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 1.36%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Monday.

Shares of Phoenix Mills(up 1.67 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, DLF(down 2.66 per cent), Godrej Properties(down 2.64 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(down 2.17 per cent), Macrotech Developers(down 1.34 per cent) and Oberoi Realty(down 1.2 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 1.36 per cent down at 447.6.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 246.0 points at 17312.9, while the BSE Sensex stood down 861.25 points at 57972.62.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 ended in the green, while 39 closed in the red.

Shares of Reliance Power, YES Bank, Zomato Ltd., Suzlon Energy and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Kritika Wires, Rama Phosphates, Lokesh Machines, Max India and Fidel Softech Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Dynemic Product(PP), GVK Power Infra, Sportking India, Jalan Transolutions and Jindal Cotex hit their fresh 52-week lows.
