Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.7% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 09:59AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Mahindra & Mahindra(up 2.29 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 1.45 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 1.16 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.96 per cent) and Tata Motors(up 0.78 per cent) were among the top gainers.

TIINDIA(down 2.7 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(down 0.73 per cent), MRF(down 0.44 per cent) and TVS Motor Company(down 0.29 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.7 per cent at 12893.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 30.65 points at 17428.15, while the BSE Sensex was up 129.58 points at 58517.51.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, JP Power, Suzlon Energy and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Kotyark Industries Ltd., CSL Finance, Autoline Ind, Cool Caps Industries Ltd. and Metro Brands Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vaxtex Cotfab, Zensar Tech, Birla Tyres, Swaraj Suiting Ltd. and Future Enterprises hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
