Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Thursday's session.

G S F C(up 4.42%), Bohra Industries(up 4.15%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (up 4.12%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 2.13%), Agro Phos(up 1.48%), Madras Fertlizers(up 1.11%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 1.01%), Coromandel International(up 0.95%), Aries Agro(up 0.34%) and Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(up 0.26%) stood among the top gainers.

Madhya Bharat Agro Products(down 1.67%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 1.56%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(down 0.90%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(down 0.71%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 0.40%), National Fertilizer(down 0.38%), Paradeep Phosphates(down 0.36%), KRISHANA(down 0.32%), ZUARIAGRO(down 0.23%) and Sikko Industries(down 0.06%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 18.1 points down at 18297.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 35.68 points at 61904.52.

Adani Enterprises(up 4.89%), Asian Paints(up 3.23%), Hindustan Unilever(up 2.76%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 2.58%), NTPC(up 1.41%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.27%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.19%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.01%), HCL Technologies(up 0.91%) and HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.84%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 6.89%), Larsen & Toubro(down 5.17%), Hindalco Industries(down 3.57%), Divis Laboratories(down 2.8%), JSW Steel(down 1.9%), ITC(down 1.16%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.94%), Reliance Industries(down 0.65%), Tata Steel(down 0.64%) and Infosys(down 0.57%) closed in the red.
