Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power shares closed higher in the Friday's session.

Suzlon Energy-Partly Pd up Right Is(up 10.28%), GE Power India Limited(up 9.33%), Suzlon Energy(up 6.96%), PIGL(up 5.00%), Reliance Power(up 4.92%), PTC India(up 4.48%), Inox Wind Energy(up 3.43%), Voltamp Transformers(up 2.78%), Alstom T&D India(up 2.57%) and JSW Energy(up 2.23%) stood among the top gainers.

Jyoti Structures(down 3.72%), Adani Transmissions(down 1.84%), Energy Development Company(down 1.01%), ADANIGREEN(down 0.93%), Hitachi Energy India(down 0.78%), CESC(down 0.53%), Adani Power(down 0.31%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(down 0.29%), SJVN(down 0.13%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.07%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 28.65 points up at 18512.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 20.96 points at 62293.64.

HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 2.45%), Tata Motors(up 2.31%), Reliance Industries(up 1.49%), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.31%), Coal India(up 1.27%), Wipro(up 1.14%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.13%), Eicher Motors(up 1.09%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.07%) and Axis Bank(up 1.05%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Nestle India(down 1.04%), ICICI Bank(down 0.91%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.85%), Titan Company Ltd(down 0.57%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 0.53%), Adani Enterprises(down 0.51%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.46%), HDFC Bank(down 0.46%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.45%) and SBI Life(down 0.44%) closed in the red.
