Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Wednesday at 10:34AM

Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(up 4.17%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 3.43%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(up 1.72%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(up 1.52%), EID Parry(up 1.48%), BAJAJHIND(up 1.06%), Mawana Sugars(up 0.69%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(up 0.56%), Bannari Amman Sugars(up 0.42%) and KCP Sugar & Industries(up 0.16%) were among the top gainers.

Sakthi Sugars(down 7.55%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 6.03%), Simbhaoli Sugars(down 4.64%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(down 3.27%), Uttam Sugar Mills(down 1.22%), MAGADHSUGAR(down 1.07%), AVADHSUGAR(down 1.07%), DCM Shriram Industries(down 1.01%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(down 0.85%) and Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(down 0.61%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 31.85 points down at 18353.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 120.48 points at 61581.81 at around 10:34AM.

Divis Laboratories(up 1.63%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 1.42%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.93%), UPL Ltd(up 0.89%), HCL Technologies(up 0.88%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.8%), Hindalco Industries(up 0.78%), JSW Steel(up 0.7%), Tech Mahindra(up 0.58%) and SBI Life(up 0.53%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Britannia Industries(down 1.08%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.71%), Adani Enterprises(down 0.7%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.7%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.65%), ITC(down 0.57%), HDFC(down 0.57%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.52%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.47%) and Reliance Industries(down 0.45%) were trading in the red.
