Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 0.26%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Thursday.

Shares of Godrej Properties(up 1.97 per cent), Oberoi Realty(up 1.78 per cent), Macrotech Developers(up 0.55 per cent), Brigade Enterprises(up 0.37 per cent) and Prestige Estates Projects(up 0.12 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Phoenix Mills(down 2.27 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate(down 0.76 per cent) and DLF(down 0.41 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 0.26 per cent up at 405.3.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 121.85 points at 16478.1, while the BSE Sensex stood up 427.79 points at 55320.28.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 ended in the green, while 14 closed in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, MRPL, Zomato Ltd. and TV18 Broadcast were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Tree House Edu, Global Education, Time Technoplast, KPI Global Infra and Rolex Rings hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Jagran Prakashan, Vaxtex Cotfab, Akash Infra-Proj, Sadbhav Infra and Muthoot Capital hit their fresh 52-week lows.
