Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 1.22%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Tuesday.

Shares of Godrej Properties(up 0.53 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Indiabulls Real Estate(down 4.09 per cent), Macrotech Developers(down 3.13 per cent), Brigade Enterprises(down 2.58 per cent), Phoenix Mills(down 2.28 per cent) and DLF(down 1.01 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 1.22 per cent down at 437.7.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 84.25 points at 18244.2, while the BSE Sensex stood up 274.12 points at 61418.96.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 ended in the green, while 11 closed in the red.

Shares of UCO Bank, Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., JP Power, YES Bank and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Easy Trip Planners Ltd., BSL Ltd, V-Marc India Ltd., Kaynes Technology India Ltd. and Hi-Tech Pipes hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while PayTM, Moksh Ornaments Ltd., Avanti Feeds, Olectra Greentech and CMM Infraprojects Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
