Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 1.21% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 10:35AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Tech Mahindra(up 2.3 per cent), Persistent Systems(up 1.6 per cent), Wipro(up 1.5 per cent), HCL Technologies(up 1.43 per cent) and Infosys(up 1.22 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Tata Consultancy(down 1.1 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd(down 0.23 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 1.21 per cent at 29283.3 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 16.35 points at 17972.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 125.76 points at 60386.94.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, PNB, IOB, Bank of Maharashtra and L&T Fin Holding were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Generic Engg, Bombay Super Hybrid, Innovana Thinklabs, Network People Services Technologies Ltd. and Upsurge Seeds of Agriculture Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Music Broadcast, Vikas Proppant & Gr, Wanbury Ltd, Jaypee Infra and Sintex Inds. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
