Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Wednesday's session.

Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(up 10.17%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 5.85%), Madras Fertlizers(up 5.75%), Bohra Industries(up 3.88%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 3.87%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 2.04%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 1.89%), National Fertilizer(up 1.42%), Aries Agro(up 1.32%) and Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(up 1.31%) stood among the top gainers.

Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(down 4.30%), Rama Phosphates(down 2.47%), Sikko Industries(down 2.01%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(down 1.87%), KRISHANA(down 1.08%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (down 1.00%), Agro Phos(down 0.63%) and G S F C(down 0.15%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 82.25 points down at 18560.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 215.68 points at 62410.68.

Asian Paints(up 2.05%), Hindustan Unilever(up 1.99%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.77%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.46%), Axis Bank(up 1.11%), ITC(up 0.83%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.28%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.21%) and Bharti Airtel(up 0.08%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, NTPC(down 1.91%), SBI Life(down 1.79%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.75%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.64%), Tata Motors(down 1.64%), Bajaj Auto(down 1.63%), Tata Steel(down 1.55%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.53%), Reliance Industries(down 1.48%) and Hero MotoCorp(down 1.4%) closed in the red.
