Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.51% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:25AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.79 per cent), Abbott India(up 0.48 per cent), Natco Pharma(up 0.43 per cent), Pfizer(up 0.25 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories(up 0.16 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Divis Laboratories(down 3.03 per cent), Laurus(down 2.49 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 2.48 per cent), Biocon(down 1.86 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma(down 1.67 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.51 per cent at 12243.2 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 16.2 points at 17626.6, while the BSE Sensex was up 252.67 points at 60184.91.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, PNB, Vodafone Idea, Adani Ports SEZ and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of RBM Infracon Ltd., NDR Auto Components, Aegis Logistics, Mold Tek Tech and Maan Aluminium hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Adani Ent., S H Kelkar & Co., Adani Transmission, Adani Green and Crompton Greaves hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
