Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 1.17%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Friday.

Shares of Indiabulls Real Estate(up 2.64 per cent), Brigade Enterprises(up 2.1 per cent), Oberoi Realty(up 1.94 per cent), Godrej Properties(up 1.4 per cent) and Macrotech Developers(up 1.29 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Phoenix Mills(down 0.09 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 1.17 per cent up at 444.9.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 28.65 points at 18512.75, while the BSE Sensex stood up 20.96 points at 62293.64.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 ended in the green, while 21 closed in the red.

Shares of PNB, Suzlon Energy, Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., BHEL and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Dev Information Tech, Panama Petro, V-Marc India Ltd., Hariom Pipe Industries Ltd. and BHEL hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sanwaria Consumer, Jump Networks, Sintex Plastics Tech, FutureLifestyleFash and Nureca Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
