Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: YES Bank(number of shares traded: 10.33 crore), Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 4.79 crore), Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 4.46 crore), PNB(number of shares traded: 3.63 crore), IOB(number of shares traded: 2.39 crore), IDBI Bank(number of shares traded: 2.37 crore), Tata Steel(number of shares traded: 2.27 crore), Hind Const Co(number of shares traded: 1.86 crore), South Indian Bnk(number of shares traded: 1.56 crore) and UCO Bank(number of shares traded: 1.36 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 11:01AM in Friday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 65.7 points down at 17926.45, while BSE Sensex was down 229.96 points at 60123.31 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 1.11 per cent), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.04 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.99 per cent), Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 0.99 per cent) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 0.71 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 2.29 per cent), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 1.80 per cent), Coal India Ltd.(down 1.63 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.52 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 1.36 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
