Government proposes ban on private cryptocurrency

The Cryptocurrency & Regulation of Official Digital Currency Bill, 2021 introduced in parliament seeks to ban all private cryptocurrencies in the country, but allow "some exceptions to promote underlying technologies," according to Times of India. The bill is one of 26 new legislations on the government's agenda for the winter session of parliament.
