Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.31% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:14AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

IndusInd Bank(up 1.21 per cent), IDFCBANK(up 0.96 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.62 per cent), HDFC Bank(up 0.49 per cent) and Axis Bank(up 0.39 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Punjab National Bank(down 3.22 per cent), State Bank of India(down 0.1 per cent) and ICICI Bank(down 0.02 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.31 per cent at 37495.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 194.7 points at 17124.3, while the BSE Sensex was up 604.9 points at 57462.69.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 were trading in the green, while 6 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Tata Steel, Zomato Ltd., PNB and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Beardsell Ltd, Lotus Eye Hosp, SBI Life, Schaeffler India and TVS Motor hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Rollatainers Ltd, Karda Const, Bajaj Hindusthan Su, Aakash Exploration and Sanghi Ind hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
