Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 10:50AM

Pokarna(up 0.50%) and KIOCL(up 0.14%) were among the top gainers.

Ashapura Minechem(down 2.19%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.80%), Coal India(down 0.50%), MOIL(down 0.44%), NMDC Ltd(down 0.44%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 0.23%), Aro Granite Industries(down 0.11%) and 20 Microns(down 0.11%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 46.5 points up at 18165.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 186.83 points at 61128.5 at around 10:50AM.

Tata Motors(up 2.56%), Asian Paints(up 1.37%), Adani Enterprises(up 1.24%), HCL Technologies(up 1.18%), HDFC Bank(up 1.09%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.03%), Cipla(up 0.96%), Infosys(up 0.92%), ITC(up 0.83%) and IndusInd Bank(up 0.75%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Axis Bank(down 2.2%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.22%), JSW Steel(down 0.88%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.83%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.8%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.67%), Coal India(down 0.56%), UPL Ltd(down 0.42%), Grasim Industries(down 0.4%) and UltraTech Cement(down 0.34%) were trading in the red.
