    Share price of Marico falls as Sensex drops 42.37 points

    Share price of Marico Ltd. dropped 0.41 per cent to Rs 536.7 at 01:33PM (IST) in Monday's trade. The scrip hit a high of Rs 540.5 and low of Rs 531.3 so far during the session. The stock had closed at Rs 538.9 in the previous session.

    The counter had a total traded volume of 01:33PM shares so far with a turnover of Rs 106.0 crore on BSE. The stock traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 53.32 and a price-to-book ratio of 16.29.

    A higher price-to-earnings ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price for per rupee earnings given by the stock because of better future growth expectations.

    The price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.

    Promoters held 59.42 per cent stake in the company as of 30-Jun-2023, while foreign investors and domestic institutional investors ownership stood at 24.96 per cent and 10.2 per cent, respectively.

    The firm reported consolidated net sales of Rs 2308.0 crore for the quarter ended 31-Mar-2023, down 8.05 per cent from the previous quarter's Rs 2510.0 crore and down 5.63 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 2185.0 crore.

    Its profit for the latest quarter stood at Rs 302.0 crore, up 20.32 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.
