Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Friday at 10:35AM

Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.69%), Bannari Amman Sugars(up 0.80%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(up 0.28%) and DCM Shriram Industries(up 0.21%) were among the top gainers.

Sakthi Sugars(down 4.20%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(down 2.22%), KCP Sugar & Industries(down 1.96%), AVADHSUGAR(down 1.41%), Simbhaoli Sugars(down 1.14%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 1.13%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(down 1.10%), Mawana Sugars(down 1.09%), Shree Renuka Sugars(down 0.97%) and MAGADHSUGAR(down 0.92%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 53.25 points down at 17938.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 205.36 points at 60147.91 at around 10:35AM.

Hindalco Industries(up 1.15%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.02%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.89%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.84%), Reliance Industries(up 0.83%), Britannia Industries(up 0.83%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 0.74%), Adani Enterprises(up 0.66%), ITC(up 0.64%) and NTPC(up 0.59%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Coal India(down 2.02%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.9%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.52%), ICICI Bank(down 1.47%), JSW Steel(down 1.47%), Tata Consultancy(down 1.26%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.09%), Axis Bank(down 1.06%), Infosys(down 1.0%) and Asian Paints(down 0.89%) were trading in the red.
