Kamal Nath, the Congress chief of Bhopal, has promised a string of initiatives aimed at the Hindu community if the Congress is voted to power in the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh. These initiatives include reviving the project to construct the Sitamata temple in Sri Lanka, increasing the honorarium of Hindu priests and providing them with insurance cover, and launching a scheme to provide financial help for performing last rites.
