ā¢ Rakesh Roy, an engineer from Kerala, has successfully completed the state's first self-identified private small hydroelectric project, Mukkudam Small Hydroelectric Project, which began supplying power to the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) Limited last month.
ā¢ Roy and his six friends, who graduated from FISAT Engineering College, identified the potential of a mountain stream near their homes and turned it into a four MW project.
ā¢ The project faced challenges, including funding and procedural delays, but received support from central government agencies and the Energy Management Centre under the Power Department.
