Chadha claimed that opposition voices were being deliberately targeted and that the cancellation of his allotment was an attempt to silence him. The Rajya Sabha Secretariat had opposed Chadha's petition against the trial court's decision. Chadha had originally been allotted a Type 6 bungalow, but requested a Type 7 accommodation.
