With the 2024 Paris Olympics a year away, sports governing bodies are divided on how to treat Russian athletes. Some sports have lifted bans on Russian athletes and are allowing them to compete as neutral competitors without a flag or national anthem. Most of the sports that allow Russians to compete follow the IOC's advice and prefer to call them "individual neutral athletes."
