ā¢ Prime Minister Narendra Modi flew in the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) on Saturday, describing the experience as enriching and boosting his confidence in India's indigenous capabilities.
ā¢ The Modi government has strongly supported the indigenous LCA project, with orders for 83 Mk1A variant fighters and plans for 97 more.
ā¢ India has also announced a deal for manufacturing GE F414 engines under technology transfer for the under development Mk2 variant of the LCA.
