Karnataka: HAL to hand over first LCA trainer aircraft to IAF in Bengaluru
The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is set to deliver the first Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) twin-seater trainer version aircraft to the Indian Air Force (IAF). This marks a significant milestone in the production of the LCA Twin Seater, which is designed to train pilots before they become fighter pilots. HAL has an order of 18 twin-seater aircraft from the IAF, with plans to deliver eight in FY 2023-24 and the remaining 10 by 2026-27. The LCA-Tejas is an important program for the IAF and is expected to be produced in high numbers by HAL in Bengaluru.
