NASA's James Webb Telescope captures stunning image of farthest star at 28 billion light years away
The telescope used the gravitational lensing technique and traced back to the universe's earliest era, roughly 13.8 billion years ago. The star was identified earlier by the Hubble space telescope and belongs to the Sunrise Arc galaxy. The star's remoteness was earlier estimated to be 12.9 billion light-years away from Earth, but astronomers now suggest the star's actual distance is almost 28 billion light-years away.
