Dow plunges 200 pts amid Powell, economic data
Major US stock markets traded mostly lower on Monday as investors continued to process the latest economic data released during the session and in expectation of what Powell may say today.
Concerns about what the Fed Chairman may reveal are especially high, while other bank officials continue to believe that further interest rate hikes are appropriate.
The Dow Jones lost 0.60% or 200 points at 12:03 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 added 0.37%, and the S&P 500 declined 0.38%. A minute later, the euro was down by 0.74% against the dollar, selling for $1.04960.
