US extends gains, Dow rises by 650 points
Major stock market indexes in the United States continued to collect gains at the start of a week filled with various economic and company earnings reports. Notably, the shares of the businesses such as Netflix Inc. and Tesla Inc. jumped by more than 7% ahead of the release of their earnings updates.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 2.20% or 650 points at 2:01 pm ET. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 increased by 3.66% or 391 points. The S&P 500 grew by 2.89% or 103 points at 2:02 pm ET.
The euro gained 1.27% to the dollar to sell for $0.98453 at 2:02 pm ET.
