NITI Aayog has proposed incentives in the form of tax benefits and a production linked incentive scheme to encourage production and refining of critical minerals used in lithium-ion batteries. In addition, the Aayog has called for the development of strong supply chains of critical minerals and raw materials to boost the domestic lithium-ion battery manufacturing industry.
