Yesterday, someone was using my fake Instagram profile to message people promising returns.
What really bothered me is how anyone could actually fall for such absurd claims? Like achieving something like 7 times in 4 hours consistently with 0 losses?
These people mainly target the desperate.
1) Many people may have borrowed money from their friends or parents and lost it all in the markets. They will be looking for some way to make money quickly.
2) They may have put all their life savings and retirement funds in the markets and lost it all. For them, it's unacceptable that all the money they have earned over 30-40 years of hard work is gone in a few months. Now, even they are desperate to earn some quick money.
The bigger problem with the first category is that these people would have made 20-30k in a day. When they have seen such daily profits, they don't even want to go back to doing a job because they become addicted to trading. They feel that with 4-5L capital, they can make as much as they earn from a job.
Now these people desperately want some money quickly. They have already lost so much, they don't mind trying out with another 3k. What if this turns out to be true, and they actually get 35k back?
When we look at the numbers, 90% of traders are making a loss, which itself amounts to around 40L people. A good chunk of these people fall into one of the two categories. Now, the target market is quite huge.
Targeting just 100 people per month with different fake profiles who pay you 3k can earn you 3L per month.
100 is a very small number considering the market size.
