Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: South Indian Bnk(number of shares traded: 6.74 crore), Tata Steel(number of shares traded: 2.85 crore), PNB(number of shares traded: 2.44 crore), Zomato Ltd.(number of shares traded: 2.02 crore), GTL Infra(number of shares traded: 1.68 crore), RBL Bank(number of shares traded: 1.50 crore), Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 1.31 crore), Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 1.24 crore), BHEL(number of shares traded: 1.22 crore) and IDFC First Bank(number of shares traded: 1.11 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 10:09AM in Thursday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 84.75 points up at 17741.1, while BSE Sensex was up 274.54 points at 59818.5 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, JSW Steel Ltd.(up 5.14 per cent), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 3.26 per cent), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 3.00 per cent), Titan Company Ltd.(up 2.54 per cent) and Cipla Ltd.(up 1.56 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.21 per cent), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 1.18 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.63 per cent), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 0.52 per cent) and SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 0.41 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
