Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Tuesday's session.

Madras Fertlizers(up 7.29%), Sikko Industries(up 4.79%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(up 3.91%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 3.55%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 2.39%), National Fertilizer(up 2.30%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(up 0.61%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 0.46%) and Madhya Bharat Agro Products(up 0.13%) stood among the top gainers.

Bohra Industries(down 4.99%), KRISHANA(down 2.75%), Rama Phosphates(down 1.91%), G S F C(down 0.94%), ZUARIAGRO(down 0.75%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(down 0.63%), Coromandel International(down 0.62%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (down 0.43%), Aries Agro(down 0.26%) and Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(down 0.19%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 58.3 points down at 18642.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 208.24 points at 62626.36.

Adani Enterprises(up 2.58%), Hindustan Unilever(up 1.32%), Bajaj Auto(up 0.95%), Nestle India(up 0.8%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.72%), Axis Bank(up 0.61%), UltraTech Cement(up 0.6%), Bajaj Finance(up 0.57%), Grasim Industries(up 0.55%) and Britannia Industries(up 0.48%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 2.91%), Tata Steel(down 2.5%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 2.35%), Hindalco Industries(down 2.33%), UPL Ltd(down 1.86%), Infosys(down 1.64%), State Bank of India(down 1.35%), Eicher Motors(down 1.34%), JSW Steel(down 1.3%) and Bharti Airtel(down 1.27%) closed in the red.
