Share market update: Auto shares gain; M&M climbs 4%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading with gain in Thursday's session.

Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra (up 4.22 per cent) , Hero MotoCorp (up 3.53 per cent) , Bosch (up 3.35 per cent) , Motherson Sumi Systems (up 2.63 per cent) , Ashok Leyland (up 1.24 per cent) , Exide Industries (up 0.84 per cent) , Apollo Tyres (up 0.82 per cent) , Amara Raja Batteries (up 0.77 per cent) , MRF (up 0.55 per cent) , Bajaj Auto (up 0.43 per cent) , Tata Motors (up 0.4 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki (up 0.35 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 1.31 per cent up at 6806.45 around 11:39AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 104.10 points at 10534.15, while the BSE Sensex was up 371.44 points at 35785.89.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SBI, Axis Bank, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, Ashok Leyland, RBL Bank Ltd., BHEL and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
