Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Wednesday's session.

Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(up 4.98%), Paradeep Phosphates(up 3.65%), Agro Phos(up 1.90%), Rama Phosphates(up 1.01%), KRISHANA(up 0.85%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 0.74%), National Fertilizer(up 0.23%), Coromandel International(up 0.10%) and Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(up 0.05%) stood among the top gainers.

Bohra Industries(down 2.86%), G S F C(down 1.84%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 1.37%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (down 1.18%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(down 1.15%), Sikko Industries(down 1.07%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(down 0.95%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 0.92%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(down 0.54%) and Madras Fertlizers(down 0.44%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 99.45 points down at 18534.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 346.89 points at 62622.24.

Bharti Airtel(up 3.84%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 2.01%), Britannia Industries(up 1.83%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.64%), SBI Life(up 1.57%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.56%), Asian Paints(up 1.54%), Tata Motors(up 1.45%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.23%) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.98%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.49%), Axis Bank(down 2.41%), State Bank of India(down 2.18%), Reliance Industries(down 1.99%), HDFC(down 1.97%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.74%), NTPC(down 1.67%), HDFC Bank(down 1.58%), Coal India(down 1.25%) and JSW Steel(down 1.18%) closed in the red.
