Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 1.94% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:50AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

TVS Motor Company(up 5.17 per cent), TIINDIA(up 4.09 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 3.94 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(up 3.68 per cent) and Tata Motors(up 3.22 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Escorts Kubota(down 1.66 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 1.94 per cent at 13328.25 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 234.1 points at 17856.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 733.92 points at 59875.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 49 were trading in the green, while 1 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, Zomato Ltd., Ambuja Cements and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Upsurge Seeds of Agriculture Ltd., McLeod Russel, Shanthi Gears, Vesuvius India and N R Agarwal Ind hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MEP Infrastructure, Debock Sales & Mktg, FutureLifestyleFash, Xelpmoc Design and Globus Spirits hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
