Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 10:50AM

Lexus Granito(up 4.31%), KIOCL(up 2.76%), Oriental Trimex(up 2.40%), Pokarna(up 1.74%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 1.03%), Coal India(up 0.66%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.48%), MOIL(up 0.47%) and Aro Granite Industries(up 0.22%) were among the top gainers.

20 Microns(down 1.98%), NMDC Ltd(down 1.35%), Ashapura Minechem(down 0.82%) and Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.11%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 81.1 points down at 17258.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 239.84 points at 57875.66 at around 10:50AM.

IndusInd Bank(up 1.46%), State Bank of India(up 1.29%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 1.0%), ITC(up 0.96%), Asian Paints(up 0.84%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.8%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.8%), Grasim Industries(up 0.79%), Coal India(up 0.78%) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.69%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, UPL Ltd(down 3.81%), Hindalco Industries(down 3.33%), Hero MotoCorp(down 2.38%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.1%), SBI Life(down 1.83%), Eicher Motors(down 1.69%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.66%), HDFC(down 1.6%), Bharti Airtel(down 1.54%) and Tata Steel(down 1.15%) were trading in the red.
