Stock market update: Bank stocks down; SBI slips 2%

NEW DELHI: Bank stocks were trading on a negative note at 11:05AM (IST) on Monday.

Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 1.38 per cent), RBL Bank (up 0.65 per cent) and IndusInd Bank (up 0.54 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While IDFC Bank (down 2.64 per cent), State Bank of India (down 2.06 per cent), Axis Bank (down 1.65 per cent), Bandhan Bank (down 1.6 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (down 0.87 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.41 per cent down at 21589.5 around 11:05AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 20.25 points at 11198.65, while the BSE Sensex was up 17.81 points at 37895.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 14 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of KIOCL Ltd., Aditya Birla Fashion (PP), APL Apollo Tube, Bajaj Elec. and MindTree hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mittal Life Style Ltd. and Keerti Knowledge and Skills Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
