Reliance Industries' (RIL) partnership with Microsoft will be the defining partnership of the decade, Chairman Mukesh Ambani said.
Ambani made the statement during a conversation with Microsoft chief executive officer (CEO) Satya Nadella at the Future Decoded CEO 2020 Summit in Mumbai.
Ambani also commented on US President Donald Trump's ongoing visit to India, saying that the India Trump will see will be very different from the one seen by past US presidents on their visits.
Reliance Jio Infocomm and Microsoft had in August 2019 signed a partnership for the technology giant’s cloud infrastructure Azure.
Ambani said the mobile networks in India are now “better, or at par” with other countries.
“Every small business and entrepreneur in India has the potential to become the next Dhirubhai Ambani or Bill Gates. That is what differentiates India from the rest of the world,” Ambani added.
Nadella is on a three-day visit to India, which coincides with Trump’s visit to India. On February 25, Nadella will attend Microsoft Future Decoded Tech Summit in Bengaluru.
