Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 0.23%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Thursday.

Shares of Macrotech Developers(up 1.12 per cent) and DLF(up 0.32 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Indiabulls Real Estate(down 2.8 per cent), Brigade Enterprises(down 0.87 per cent), Oberoi Realty(down 0.74 per cent), Phoenix Mills(down 0.47 per cent) and Godrej Properties(down 0.34 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 0.23 per cent down at 417.65.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 28.0 points at 15938.65, while the BSE Sensex stood down 98.0 points at 53416.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 ended in the green, while 30 closed in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, Zomato Ltd., YES Bank and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Spacenet Enterprise, Butterfly Gandhi, PC Jeweller, GRP Ltd and International Constructions Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Arrow Greentech, Birlasoft, Suumaya Lifestyle, Sintex Plastics Tech and Electrotherm hit their fresh 52-week lows.
