Stock market update: Media stocks fall; Dish TV dips 5%

NEW DELHI: Media stocks were trading on a negative note at 11:20AM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Dish TV India (down 4.95 per cent), DB Corp (down 2.09 per cent), Hathway Cable & Datacom (down 2.07 per cent), Zee Entertainment (down 1.87 per cent) and TV18 Broadcast (down 1.57 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Sun TV Network (up 2.3 per cent), PVR (up 1.71 per cent), TV Today Network (up 1.13 per cent) and Jagran Prakashan (up 0.51 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Media index was trading 0.37 per cent down at 1566.7 around 11:20AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 16.00 points at 11403.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 57.22 points at 38685.51.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SBI, IDFC First Bank Ltd. and Tata Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd., Infibeam Avenues Ltd., Max Healthcare Institute Ltd., Hathway Cable and Ruchi Soya Inds hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Khandwala Securities Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
