Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.55% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:55AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

MRF(up 0.77 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 0.59 per cent), Escorts Kubota(up 0.27 per cent), Eicher Motors(up 0.23 per cent) and Bosch(up 0.13 per cent) were among the top gainers.

TIINDIA(down 3.86 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 2.09 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 1.6 per cent), Bajaj Auto(down 0.88 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp(down 0.6 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.55 per cent at 12650.85 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 15.75 points at 17496.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 71.66 points at 59035.53.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, PNB, Zomato Ltd. and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of DC Infotech, Tracxn Technologies Ltd., Mazda Ltd, Alkali Metals and Madhya Bharat Agro hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while JohnsonCtrls Hitachi, Piramal Pharma Ltd., Penta Gold, Akshar Spintex and A and M Jumbo Bags L hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
