Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.28%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Thursday.

Shares of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 0.51 per cent), Sanofi India(up 0.48 per cent), Pfizer(up 0.34 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(up 0.27 per cent) and Abbott India(up 0.17 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Gland Pharma(down 1.95 per cent), Natco Pharma(down 1.14 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 1.08 per cent), Lupin(down 0.98 per cent) and Laurus(down 0.85 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.28 per cent down at 12699.05.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 57.5 points at 18107.85, while the BSE Sensex stood down 187.31 points at 60858.43.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 ended in the green, while 31 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, PNB and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Mold Tek Tech, Hisar Metal Ind, Chembond Chem, GRP Ltd and Atul Auto hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Nureca Ltd., GTPL Hathway, Vikas Proppant & Gr, Anlon Technology Solutions Ltd. and Chaman Metallics Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
