Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: YES Bank(number of shares traded: 7.09 crore), PNB(number of shares traded: 3.43 crore), Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 2.92 crore), IOB(number of shares traded: 1.82 crore), Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd.(number of shares traded: 1.72 crore), Bank of Maharashtra(number of shares traded: 1.57 crore), Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 1.44 crore), Tata Steel(number of shares traded: 1.39 crore), Zomato Ltd.(number of shares traded: 1.15 crore) and Rail Vikas Nigam(number of shares traded: 1.09 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 10:09AM in Friday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 78.05 points down at 17780.15, while BSE Sensex was down 314.42 points at 59643.61 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Tata Steel Ltd.(up 1.06 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.99 per cent), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 0.90 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 0.84 per cent) and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 0.82 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.82 per cent), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 1.47 per cent), Reliance Industries Ltd.(down 1.41 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(down 1.39 per cent) and Wipro Ltd.(down 1.34 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
