Stock market update: Media stocks gain; Inox climbs 2%

NEW DELHI: Media stocks were trading higher at 11:32AM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Inox Leisure (up 1.98 per cent), Navneet Education Ltd (up 1.6 per cent), Network 18 Fincap (up 1.0 per cent), Jagran Prakashan (up 0.87 per cent) and PVR (up 0.68 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Hathway Cable & Datacom (down 1.46 per cent), TV Today Network (down 0.85 per cent), Zee Entertainment (down 0.47 per cent) and DB Corp (down 0.32 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Media index was trading 0.16 per cent up at 1442.8 around 11:32AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 69.85 points at 11316.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 211.17 points at 38261.95.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, NTPC, Ashok Leyland and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Birlasoft, KIOCL Ltd., IOL Chemicals, Amber Enterprises India Ltd. and Aditya Birla Fashion (PP) hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mittal Life Style Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
