Share market update: Metal shares shine; MOIL surges 10%

NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading with gains in Friday's session.

Shares of MOIL (up 10.26 per cent) , Hindustan Copper (up 9.46 per cent) , Steel Authority of India (up 7.07 per cent) , Jindal Steel & Power (up 6.02 per cent) , Tata Steel (up 5.97 per cent) , National Aluminium Company (up 5.58 per cent) , Welspun Corp (up 4.99 per cent) , Hindalco Industries (up 4.59 per cent) , APL Apollo Tubes (up 4.51 per cent) , JSW Steel (up 3.18 per cent) , Coal India (up 3.1 per cent) , NMDC Ltd (up 2.93 per cent) , Hindustan Zinc (up 1.37 per cent) and Ratnamani Metals & Tubes (up 0.64 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Metal index was trading 3.68 per cent up at 2045.6 around 02:03PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 124.40 points at 10153.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 348.68 points at 34329.38.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 were trading in the green, while 9 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, SBI, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, PNB, Tata Power, Trident Ltd, BHEL and IDFC First Bank Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
