Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 0.86%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Monday.

Shares of Prestige Estates Projects(up 2.05 per cent), Macrotech Developers(up 1.68 per cent), Godrej Properties(up 0.92 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate(up 0.84 per cent) and DLF(up 0.71 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Oberoi Realty(down 0.63 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 0.86 per cent up at 386.5.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 132.8 points at 15832.05, while the BSE Sensex stood up 433.3 points at 53161.28.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 ended in the green, while 10 closed in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., Vodafone Idea, Brightcom Group, IDFC First Bank and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Wendt India, Sterling Tools, Marathon Nextgen, Voltamp Trans and Spacenet Enterprise hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Touchwood Entertainm, Fidel Softech Ltd., Aakash Exploration, Vaxtex Cotfab and Bombay Rayon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
